A More Functional Website To Be Put In Place To Attract Investors To Nigeria's Mines And Steel Sector

To attract necessary local and foreign direct investment to Nigeria's Mines and Steel sector, the Federal Government is to make the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development's website more functional through regular updating with current facts and figures on investment opportunities.

The Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Arch. Musa Muhammad Sada made the discloser during a courtesy visit on the Executive Governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Ibrahim Shehu Shema.

Arch. Sada explained that through this strategy, prospective investors would have seamless and fast business transactions with the Ministry thereby resulting to the much desired development of the sector.

The Honourable Minister also said that the mining and steel sector should be seen as the hope of revamping the nations’ economy and industrial development.

He assured that the Ministry would put in place the necessary legislative framework through collaboration with all stakeholders for the development of the sector.
The Minister said that the artisanal and small-scale miners will be assisted in their operations to make meaningful contributions to the national economy.

Arch. Sada had said earlier that the purpose of the courtesy visit was to thank the Executive Governor and the good people of Katsina State for nominating him as a Minister representing the state.
He assured the government and the people of Katisna State that he would not disappoint them as he is serving the nation at the Federal level.

The Minister also appreciated the Executive Governor of Katsina state for appointing him as a Commissioner in the State Executive Council before his recent appointment as the Minister of Mines and Steel Development.
It could be recalled that Arch. Musa M. Sada was the immediate past Commissioner for Works and Housing in Katsina State before his present appointment.

In his remarks, the Executive Governor of Katsina state, Alhaji Ibrahim Shehu Shema commended the Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Arch. Musa Muhammad Sada for the meritorious and dedicated service he rendered as the immediate past Commissioner of Works and Housing in Katsina State.

He added that his ministerial appointment was well deserved, adding that he should continue with the good work at the federal level.

Governor Shema commended the Minister for the completion of the Katsina Airport, many roads, and housing projects when he served as the Commissioner for Works and Housing in the state.

Governor Shema reiterated that the minerals and metals sector was fundemental to the industrial development of any nation. He however, added that these resources are not well harnessed in the country.
The Governor advised that for Nigeria to realise her industrialisation dream it must harness its abundant minerals and metals resources adequately.

Governor Shema observed that out of about 25 solid mineral resources in the northern states, 18 different solid mineral deposits are in Katsina state.
He disclosed that out of the 18 different solid minerals deposit the state is mining Kaolin to produce Paint and Chalk.

The Governor disclosed that youths are being trained in each Local Government are of the state to make paint and chalk from Kaolin, a solid mineral resource in the state.

The Minister of Mines and Steel Development also paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Katsina, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Abdulmunin Kabir Usman to show his appreciation on his appointment as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
