Federal Government to Diversify The Economy From Oil To Focus On Solid Mineral Sector

The Federal Government of Nigeria is to diversify the economy from oil and focus on the Solid Mineral Sector.

The Minister of Mines and Steel Development Arc. Musa Mohammed Sada stated this at the African down under Conference held in Australia.

 In his presentation at the plenary the Minister emphasized the determination of the Federal Government of Nigeria to diversify the economy away from oil and to focus on the solid mineral sector through the development of its vast mineral resource endowment.

 The Nigerian Delegation also held several bilateral meetings with the Western Australian Government and prospective investors.

 The representative of the Australian Government Mr. John Shutte, Mongers South Asia Middle East investment and Mr. Rayio Fillipi emphasized on the Area of the proposed cooperation with Nigeria in the Nigerian Mining Sector, capacity training and attracting Australian major and Junior Company to Nigeria, A delegation from the Western Australian Government will visit Nigeria soon.

There were a total of over 150 exhibitions at this year’s conference. They included both Government and investors from many countries including Nigeria. Nigeria’s booth was visited by over 400 participant/delegates in their separate welcome remarks among others.

The Australian special minister for state, Hary Grayin stated that the Federal Government of Australia is determined to re-engage with Africa, saying that Australia had seriously neglected engagement with Africa over the years and the Hon. Minister of Mineral Resources of the Republic of South Africa. Ms. Suman Shabongha renewed commitment through the Australia –Africa partnership and advocated for Australia as an official observer to the Africa union.
