Nigerian Women Will Be Empowered-Minister

  Nigerian women will be empowered politically and economically towards the the development of the country.

The Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Mrs. Diezani Alison – Madueke gave the assurance when members of the Association of Female Political Aspirants of Bayelsa State paid her a courtesy visit in her office in Abuja.

Mrs. Alison Madueke commended the ladies for their courage to come together as a group to fight for the cause of women empowerment politically and economically in Bayelsa State and Nigeria at large.

Speaking earlier, the President of the Association of Female Political Aspirants in Bayelsa State, Mrs Sodaguwo Festus Omon said that the purpose of their visit was to seek the Honourable Minister’s assistance in Women empowerment politically and economically towards the development of Bayelsa State.

Mrs. Festus – Omion said that the other reason of their visit was to felicitate with the Honourable Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Mrs. Diezani Alison – Madueke on her appointment as the Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as a women from Bayelsa State.

The Association members prayed God to continuously assist the Honourable Minister to succeed on her appointment and other endeavors of life.           

Members of the Association are aspiring for councillorship and chairmanship positions in Local Government Areas of Bayelsa State under the plat form of the Peoples Democratic Party. The Association was formed in 2006.
